LIBERTIES COLLEGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • You should be at least 17 years of age.
  • One references must be uploaded to your online application page.
  • Leaving Certificate standard is required; or Pass Level (120 credits) in the Leaving Certificate Applied. Individual courses may have specific additional requirements. These will be outlined in the course descriptions for each course.
  • Relevant work experience or training will be considered.

INTERVIEWS

Some courses have specific entry requirements and you will be asked to submit a portfolio/attend an audition or interview in order to allow you to demonstrate your suitability.

On receipt of your application we will contact with you regarding a date for your interview or audition.

All admissions are subject to the general rules and regulations of the City of Dublin Education and Training Board and Liberties College. These are available from the College on request. Where there is a vacancy on a course a place will be offered to an applicant who satisfies the entry requirements of the course. Liberties College is committed to the fair and equal treatment of all applications.

DEFERRED ENTRY

An applicant who receives an offer of a course place may seek to defer entry to the next academic year. There is a maximum flexibility policy in relation to these requests and generally all requests are granted, subject to the programme being available in the next academic year.

MATURE APPLICANTS

We welcome applications from mature candidates (i.e. over 23 years) who may not have completed a Leaving Certificate. You should apply in the normal manner. If you are receiving Social Welfare Benefit, it is probable that you can return to full-time education as a Back to Education Allowance BEA student without loss of income.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

We welcome applications from suitably qualified international candidates and we value the cultural diversity and richness this brings to the life of the college. All courses are conducted through English and candidates should have a standard of English both oral and written to meet the requirements of the course.

An Individual’s eligibility for Further Education and Training is conditional on the individual’s nationality and circumstances and requires evidence of one or more of the following:

  • Stamp 4/ Irish Residency Card/ Employment Permit
  • Labour Market Permission Letter
  • Letter from the Minister for Justice granting them permission to work in the State.

International Protection Applicants and Temporary Residence Card (TRC) holder (more than 6 months waiting a decision) are asked for evidence of Labour Market Permission Letter and valid TRC card required.

 HIGHER EDUCATION LINKS

Through the links scheme students may apply for admission to Technical Universities and Universities based on PLC results. Leaving Certificate points are not required for PLC applicants following this route.
