Counselling - Foundation Studies

and Health Services (NCVA Level 2) DCHSX
This is an introduction to Counselling
Skills for the workplace. The course focuses on the personal development
and inter-personal skills of the participant through experimental
learning and academic studies.
Duration
1 Year full-time
Entry
Students must be 23 years old on 1st January of the year
of entry. Applicants should have work experience (or equivalent)
and a clear interest in working with people. The training offered
is of value in a wide range of settings, for example
An Garda Siochana, nursing, youth work, the prison service, social
services, information services or the voluntary sector.
Those who would like to work as receptionists, in retail or in employment
services are also welcome to apply. Mature students with an interest
in further training in Councelling may apply.
