Student Grants

Many students are eligible for a means tested maintenance grant under the Maintenance Grants Scheme for students attending Post Leaving Certificate Courses. Conditions for eligibility are the same as those for University or Institute of Technology students.

General information and application details may be obtained from the offices of your local Vocational Educational Committee. The maximum grant available in 2008 is €3,420. You can submit your application for a Maintenance Grant once you have secured a college place. Candidates are advised to apply to their local VEC once they have secured a college place in May or September 2009.
