This one-year programme is an access course to Higher Education. The modules studied are suited to those who wish to progress to degree level courses in Arts and Social Sciences. There are no socio-economic entry criteria for this university access course.

Entry
Academic: Minimum 5 passes in the Leaving Certificate with a higher grade ‘C’ in one subject or equivalent qualification. LCA with Distinction may qualify with appropriate references.
- Candidates are required to submit a written Personal Statement (200-300 words) in which they discuss their reasons for applying for this programme, before interview.

- Students study eight modules and aim to achieve a minimum of five Distinctions and three Passes to compete for reserved course places in Higher Education.
- One-to-one career guidance and mentoring.
- Students are expected to learn to take responsibility for their won learning within the managed environment of the programme.

Higher EducationStudents compete for reserved places in Higher Education through progression routes for students holding FETAC Awards.

- DCU Contemporary culture and Society 50 overall places on course
