Cathal Sheahan

“After completing a Masters in Film Studies at UCD, I decided to turn my hand to acting, so I trained for two years in Bull Alley Theatre Training School in the Liberties. Since then I have acted in a number of plays, short films, TV shows “Fair City” and “Anonymous”, features such as “Miss Conception” and “Christian Blake” and TV commercials “Permanent TSB” and “Television License” ads. I have also produced and written some of my own projects.
I found the training at Bull Alley to be very useful in the professional world of theatre and film. If I hadn’t trained at Bull Alley I would have found it a struggle to adapt to various ways of approaching characters and of course the rehearsal process. I was fortunate enough also to be in a class of good actors who have also remained good friends of mine to this day. Bull Alley has a very “hands on” approach to acting which I very much enjoyed after the analysis and academia of UCD. One vital lesson I learned from Bull Alley is that there is nothing better than just getting up and doing it!”
